Services to Faculty
Welcome to Speed Library! Our team of librarians wants all faculty members to receive the highest-quality library services and have easy access to all our resources and collections. We hope the following information will help to better serve your instructional and research needs. Also, be sure and check out our Library FAQ. We welcome your comments and suggestions.
The library provides support to faculty through the work of Subject Librarians, who serve both as contacts for individuals (book and journal requests, specialized research assistance, etc.) and as liaisons to academic departments and programs
Faculty can request instructional support from a librarian at Speed Library. Instructional support can include instruction in the library or classroom, and can also include instructional materials integrated into the Speed Library Subject and Course Guides. We offer a series of video tutorials that can be integrated into online courses and accessed anywhere, anytime.
The library has two types of reserves: traditional hard copy and electronic reserves. Using a course reserve form, faculty members may place books, journal articles, or other printed materials on reserve in order to provide short-term circulation of required reading assignments.
Database articles may be linked directly (sometimes called persistent or deep links) to the full text article from Moodle, course syllabus page, required reading lists, or just a faculty/department web page.
The Teaching & Learning Center is a collaborative initiative, providing resources to enhance student achievement and faculty teaching effectiveness.
